General Position Description:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support the Dreyer’s Snacks business. The analyst
will be support the Snacks brand marketing team and add value to the organization by providing accurate
and timely reporting and analysis to support the short and long term profitability of the Snacks portfolio.
This role will report to the Director of Brand Finance – Snacks, and work with the Snacks brand team to
track business performance, identify performance drivers, proactively highlight opportunities, identify
issues and solve problems, and recommend actions based on analysis.
The successful analyst will impact both the strategic and long-term direction of the Snacks business and
day-to-day operational decision-making by identifying the key financial issues affecting the business. The
analyst will also understand the total Dreyer’s business system and integrate decisions across functions
and all of our brands by working with finance partners throughout the company (sales, operations,
distribution).

Position Requirements:
Knowledge (technical skills, educational background, and required work experience):
?? Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred
?? At least 5 years business experience in a role with significant analytical and financial component
?? CPG financial or brand management experience at a minimum
?? CPG new products experience preferred
?? Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
Skills:
The role requires strong analytical skills and has a high level of autonomy. Specific skills/qualifications
sought:
?? Bachelor’s Degree: Finance or Accounting preferred.
?? At least 3 years business experience in a role with a significant quantitative and analytical component
?? CPG experience preferred; consulting/investment banking experience also relevant
?? Strong verbal and written communication skills
?? Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
?? Well-organized with an ability to multi-task
?? Motivated self-starter who proactively anticipates needs of brand team
?? Ability to think independently and draw out key insights from data
?? Efficient, productive individual with enthusiasm for rapidly scaling a steep learning curve
Position Responsibilities:
The business analyst will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Snacks business P&L, focused on:
?? Supporting monthly performance reviews and analyzing the profitability of individual products and
the overall Frozen Snacks portfolio;
?? Identifying areas of improvement;
?? Developing new ways to analyze and report on the financial performance of the business unit.
Together with the Director of Brand Finance - Snacks, the specific responsibilities include:
- Annual Planning
o Working with the brand teams to develop business unit strategies and model their financial implications
o Preparing the financial aspects (volume, revenue, expenses, profit) of the annual Operating
Plan, working with functional partners to align Marketing plans with company objectives
o Working with Strategy & Planning in the development of tools to facilitate the planning
process - Sales Forecast
o Working with Brand Managers and cross-functional Demand Planning team to develop
monthly sales forecasts by product
o Supporting the update of forecasting models to incorporate monthly actuals
o Developing/refining forecasting tools and methodologies to improve forecasting accuracy - Monthly reporting and analysis
o Developing monthly brand summary and management-level summary reports (actual vs. Plan
and Forecast) for the EVP and Snacks marketing team to track key financial metrics;
incorporate insights from external (Nielsen) data where relevant
o Analyzing Plan/Forecast versus Actual results (sales, gross margin, marketing spend) each
month to assess the financial health of major product lines and the overall Snacks business
o Identifying key drivers that impact financial results
o Spotting trends in monthly data and making recommendations on action
o Communicating analysis to brand teams and company leadership - Innovation and Renovation Projects
o Providing financial support and financial rigor to the marketing team in the new product
development process or renovation projects;
o Building new product P&Ls; working with brand teams to develop consistent, analytically
derived volume and growth assumptions;
o Working with Operations to develop solid cost of goods sold assumptions, often with
incomplete information
o Analyzing internal financial data on existing products to generate assumptions on distribution
mix, customer mix, etc, for new products;
o Building and testing alternative scenarios
o Drawing conclusions and making recommendations on new product viability - Other
o Initiating and leading ad hoc financial analysis on critical brand issues
o Leading special projects as needed
o Participating in cross-functional teams to solve specific issues related to Frozen Snacks
o Working with brand managers to understand ROI for specific marketing initiatives
